When issues such as a leaky air conditioning system arise, our customers are so glad they signed up for one of our maintenance agreements through our service club. Our certified technicians are available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week to repair whatever is causing your annoying leaking problem. A leaking air conditioning system is a confusing problem for many since there are many reasons it could be happening. We’ve put together a list of the most commons causes:
Dust and dirt from the air can combine with the water in the unit, causing a clog of the drain pipe or line that removes condensation from the unit.
Condensation forms when warm air meets your cool air conditioning unit. If your pump is working as it should, it pumps this condensation out of the unit through a drain pipe. Leaking water may be a sign that your condensation pump isn’t doing its job.
Your air conditioner needs to be cleaned regularly to keep dust and dirt build-up from restricting the air flow to the unit and freezing up your evaporator coil. When this happens, water pools in the condensation pan and eventually spills over.
If your air duct vents are closed or blocked, this can create pressure in your unit and cause water leakage. The good news is, if this is the reason your unit is leaking, the fix is as easy as opening your vents!
When your air conditioner is installed, it should be level to keep water from leaking out of the unit.
If your air conditioning system is leaking water, your unit is not working as it should. A poorly running unit has to work harder to keep your home cool and this costs you money. Maintenance agreements at Jerry’s Heating & Air Conditioning are intended to keep your unit in great working condition and your heating & cooling expenses affordable.
